Where to find Truth and Beauty?
I find that I hesitate and
even stop dead in my tracks when I search for the
exact words
that best suit what I want to say. Then
I place before my own
concerns
the concern for others in regard to their beliefs and their feelings so
much that
I lose sight of my own, my own purpose. Now is the time that I take
responsibility
and no longer allow such nonsense to hinder me.
What I possess
has
truth and beauty, so much truth and so much beauty that I must share it.
The gift that I possess and choose to share is best described as, ………………
My freedom in Christ.
My belief
“Everything
is Meaningless.” The basic thrust of
Ecclesiastes is that all of life
is meaningless, useless, hollow,
futile, and vain if it is not rightly related to God.
Only when based on God and his
word is life worthwhile. According
to the bible
in the book of Ecclesiastes.
My Purpose
The purpose of your life is far greater that your own
personal fulfillment, your
peace of mind, or even your
happiness. It’s far greater than your
family, our
career, or even your wildest dreams
and ambitions. If you want to know why
you
were placed on this planet,
you must begin with God. You were born by
his
purpose and for his
purpose. The Purpose Driven Life,

In search of Truth and Beauty
I find...
“Take away the scales from my eyes and show me TRUTH. Rooms
is for the
warrior inside all of us that is fighting to know our created
being. It lifts the
layers of this life, exposes them for what they are and leaves
us breathless in the
knowledge of God’s relentless love. Compared to a modern day, Pilgrim’s
Progress. Rooms will grip you and challenge you and
leave you longing for a
restored and ransomed heart that you can be all God created you
to be.”

Micah’s dead great uncle leaves him a house near Cannon Beach, Oregon. Micah
questions of all places why here, a place that repulsed
him. The house was gifted to Micah on his
thirty-fifth birthday along with the key, directions and a letter from uncle Archie. “It is time to face
your past. Time to deal with it. It is my desire that the home brings you resolution and restoration.
The home is all you.”Micah responds by saying, “My past is dead. Buried. Forgotten. And it will stay
that way.”

Where one finds truth, does one
also find beauty?
This film tells the compelling story of an extraordinary woman's journey from her birth in a
paper
thin shack in the cotton fields of Georgia to her recognition as a key writer of the twentieth Century.
Walker made history as the first black woman to win a Pulitzer Prize for her groundbreaking novel, The
Color Purple. A universal story of triumph against all odds not that different from Walker's own. Born,
the eight child of sharecroppers, her early life unfolded in the midst of violent racism and poverty
during some of the most turbulent years of social/political changes in the U.S. The film offers a
penetrating look at the life and art of an artist, a self-confessed renegade and human rights activist.

It had its genesis in a growing concern that portrayals of female beauty in popular culture were helping
to perpetuate an idea of beauty that was neither authentic nor attainable. Dove was concerned that this
limited portrayal of beauty was preventing women from recognizing and enjoying beauty in
themselves and others. The company was also aware that – in a
world where female beauty is highly
valued – this situation could also impact women’s well-being, happiness and self-esteem.

Dove’s
mission, in commissioning The Real Truth About Beauty study, was to explore
empirically
what beauty means to women today and why that is. Further, Dove wanted
the
study to assess whether it was possible to talk and think about female beauty
in ways
that
were more authentic, satisfying and empowering.

Truth is defined
as verified indisputable fact or reality.
Beauty is defined as the quality present in a
thing or person that gives intense
pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether
arising from sensory
manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a
meaningful design or pattern, or
something else (as a personality in which high spiritual
qualities are manifest).
“Of life's two chief prizes, beauty and truth, I found
the first in a loving heart and the second in a laborer's hand.” Kahlil Gibran
I believe there is beauty in the truth.

"My Purpose" - I too think that we are here by God's purpose and for His purpose as well. I personally find truth in knowing that there is a divine being that knows me and by knowing him, I can know more of what I should do in life. Have you always had these beliefs? Or have they evolved over time?
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that there is beauty in the truth.
ReplyDeleteFor me, I believe that Truth will come to light sooner or later. This belief keeps me think that I should do my best to be honest to people.
Your ending statement being that you find beauty in the truth is something that I think many people can relate to. Similarly I would say that the truth makes for the best medicine. The truth can be used to heal not physical wounds but often times emotional wounds. This is what I personally find beautiful about the truth.
ReplyDeleteYou do a wonderful job of going in depth with your thinking and analysis of topic. Keep up the amazing work!
