I watched Russell Wilson and his teammates gather together after the game bowing their heads.
These are the words I heard Russell speak, "God is good." He paid recognition to his team and their spirit of believing in each other.

ESPN reports: You can't blame Russell Wilson for being
emotional. The Seattle Seahawks quarterback had just finished an
amazing comeback against the Green Bay Packers in the NFC
championship game Sunday and was interviewed by FOX reporter
Erin Andrews. He was clearly emotional and broke down in tears.

Head coach, Pete Carroll doesn’t sound like he’s got
any resentment toward the New England Patriots, but
a Super Bowl win against his former team might be a
little more special.
As is usually the case, Carroll is putting a positive

Martin Luther King Jr. (1929-1968) was a Baptist minister and
social activist who played a key role in the American civil
rights movement from the mid-1950s until his assassination in
1968. Inspired by advocates of nonviolence such as Mahatma
Gandhi, King sought equality for African Americans, the
economically disadvantaged and victims of injustice through
peaceful protest. He was the driving force behind legislation
as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of
1965. King was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964 and
is remembered each year on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a
U.S. federal holiday since 1986.

cafeteria we shared ideas about our writing assignment.
We each offered insight and advise to one another. Our
discussions relished around the following topics:
1)appreciation of the basic necessities that we have available
in our country, 2)dreams that once were and making the most
of our current journey, 3)why things happen in the exact time
and order that they happen, and 4)the power of divine
intervention. Positive energy circulating in our midst. What a
privileged to share my afternoons with this group of people.

"Birdwatching"
Earlier this month, January 2015 we purchased a bird
feeder and hung it over our deck making it visible to watch
indoors and out. This feeder continues to attract a variety of
song birds. The birds come to eat and while they eat I watch
and enjoy how their presence enhances the environment with
the beauty of their color and the sound of their song.
(chickadees, finches, house wrens, etc...) Researching this hobby that is known watching birds, I discovered that birdwatching can do wonders for physical and mental well-being. Each new bird that visits we

“An apple a day keeps the doctor away”? You could say
that about birds. Sure, birdwatching, photographing and
feeding birds is a fun hobby, but there’s much more to it than
that. This simple activity can provide major health benefits
and add to the quality of life for just about anyone.

John James Audubon (April 26, 1785 – January 27,
1851), born Jean-Jacques Audubon, was an American
ornithologist, naturalist, and painter. He was notable for his
expansive studies to document all types of American birds
and for his detailed illustrations that depicted the birds in their
natural habitats. His major work, a color-plate book entitled
The Birds of America (1827–1839), is considered one of the
finest ornithological works ever completed. (Wikipedia)
Very interesting collection of entries, Joan -- I'd like to see you tie them more closely to what we're talking about in class. I'd also love to have you explore the phenomenon of group work, too. Something special happens when the group clicks.
